So, after much
harassment (from Katie mostly) and blatant neglect, I have finally gotten around to updating. I think it just took me a while to recover from the evil whiteness of winter,
and I had to be sure that I wasn't going to have to do another depressing snow storm blog.... blah, blah. No way... Last week it was between 90 and 100 degrees, I guess that makes it officially summer. The other reason I know it's summer is because of the grubby flip-flop feet that have been scampering across the white carpets in my house and the "summer legs" my sweet child is now sporting... scrapes, cuts, bug bites, dirt... I love it! Anyway,
Alise has been keeping quite busy this spring. She has joined a 4-H club and is showing miniature

horses - this is just the BEES KNEES in her book! Her current love is a yearling/gelding named
Commandero (aka Cowboy). He's a little feisty and stubborn, but
Alise can hold her own with him (
probably because she isthe human version of him!) She is also a little star on her local softball team, has a great arm and a solid swing.
We have been bound and determined to get outside as much as we
possibly can despite the numerous ticks we have pulled off of us, poison ivy I have scratched and pounds of bug spray I have applied to keep those friendly mosquitoes, black flies (insert your choice pest here) away. We've done a few local letterboxes and had planned on planting a box up in
Franconia for our anniversary... but we , um, didn't get around to it.... we were just unprepared (get your mind out of the gutter... "planting a box" was not a
euphemism, sicko).
Anywho... we did have a lovely time up in
Franconia again this year. We hiked, swam, read (yes... we read) and (of course) ate the insane and glorious meals that the in

n is famous for. Damn... I thought I was going to make it through a whole blog entry without mentioning food! Ah, better luck next time...
